Ce matériel est celui utilisé dans la seconde moitié du 19ième siècle à Lyon. Notre projet est de tisser des soieries perlées (gazes anglaises) pour une vraie production. Ces tissus ont été tissés aux alentours de 1885 et la production n'a duré que quelques années. Ce tissu n'existe donc plus. Pour pouvoir tisser ces étoffes, il faut utiliser un peigne spécial (peigne pour soierie perlée) qui fut inventé et fabriqué à l'époque par un peignier lyonnais. Il permet de tisser avec des perles enfilées au préalable sur des fils de chaîne disposés sur une cantre de velours. Malheureusement, nos recherches pour trouver ce peigne sont restées infructueuses jusqu'à ce jour... Qui pourra nous aider ? Philippe Demoule.
